Strata 3D - Earlier Versions
Yes, Strata 3D CX 5 will run under the Microsoft Vista operating system but you must make a change to the program's Properties first.Because of Vista's increased security features the installation for CX has to be done just a bit differently. It must be installed using the administrator account. Even if your user account has administrator privileges that isn't enough.Right-click on the installer icon and choose the command run as administrator. Once the program is installed you'll have to do the same thing the first time it is run to get the registration information saved properly. Use the run as administrator command the first time you launch the program, enter your registration information the immediately exit the program. Now you can run it normally with your user account. After installing the program open the Strata 3D CX 5 program folder on your hard drive and Right-click on the program's icon then select the Properties command. In the Properties dialog turn on the option "Disable desktop composition" then click the OK button. CX 5 will now run on Vista.
This process may enable you to run Strata 3D versions as early as 3.6 on Vista. However, these older versions are NOT officially supported by Strata for Vista.
